Sourdough Discard Cheese Crackers Recipe Tips

Freshly grated cheese will taste better than pre-shredded bagged cheese as it melts better into the sourdough starter.

Make sure to spread the mixture as thinly as possible for crispy crackers. Also, be sure to watch the crackers to prevent burning. They can turn too brown very quickly in the oven. You want to remove the sourdough cheddar crackers when they are just beginning to brown. They will crisp up as they cool.

This recipe is made with sharp cheddar cheese, but you can change up the flavor using mild cheddar, mozzarella, colby, pepperjack, and more. You can also add seasonings like cayenne for a spicy kick or Everything But The Bagel Seasoning for a completely different flavor.

you can store your sourdough crackers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Include a paper towel or moisture packet to help maintain crackers crispiness.
