Quick December 27 Update
I put this montage together of our last 24 hours. Looking at this explains why every muscle in my body hurts and why I’m in bed before 8pm.
Since I’m off work and Taylor is out of school we have been waking up early and heading straight to Pauline to work. It’s amazing to me that we’ve only owned this house for two weeks… and already gotten so much accomplished. This is what happens when three TypeA people buy a house.
Anyway, Mike and Taylor started painting her office last night after we hauled what felt like a million more tile out. Thankfully this room has well-installed LVP so we are leaving it for a while. We may end up temporarily putting LVP upstairs until we can get the hardwood refinished – just so that we have something clean to walk on for a while.
I started today by running “Jacques” in the pool… let me know if you get the reference. Then I removed the last pieces of tile from the upstairs while Mike helped Taylor with her “accent wall”… he won’t admit it but he loves the color.
We ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with canned soup by the pool – almost felt like a picnic. Thankfully I remembered utensils this time. It was absolutely gorgeous today and sitting by the pool is my happy place. Anytime I can’t be found – you can bet I’m by the pool.
Mike and I then moved on to painting my office, the teal guest room, and the green bathroom, and even began on the hallway. The sheetrock is almost finished downstairs – once that is finished and textured we will start painting down there.
The fence began going in today which is super exciting. Soon we can take Leia with us when we have these work days so she isn’t left home alone. Mike and I have always worked from home so she’s not happy about being alone so much. She’s quite the little Velcro pup when we get home.
We also finished installing the floodlight security cameras and made a few friends along the way. HOWEVER by the end of the day, there were EIGHT ladybugs in my office alone (went from cool to creepy real fast) so tomorrow we need to figure out where they are coming from.
Tomorrow we will continue painting and make a decision about the floors. But for now… SLEEP!
