Cleaning The Stairs
Just spent the last hour on my hands and knees with warm water washing paint and sheetrock dust off of the front staircase at Pauline Manor. As I was scrubbing it hit me… I’m at the end of a long list of women who have done this very thing over the 115 years that she has been standing. Every nick, scratch, and imperfection made by someone who called this place home or loved someone who did. Someday I will sand the stairwell and re-stain and re-seal this beautiful wood… but for now I just gently clean each step and smile. I will never not be in complete awe of this house.
