Beekeeping at Pauline Manor
For the first three years of building our garden, one of my favorite parts was watching the bees. I have hours of videos working alongside the little ladies and loved seeing how much life they brought to the garden and greenhouse. Since chickens were never really the plan, I decided to try beekeeping instead with the goal of helping pollinate our space and eventually offering local honey alongside the sourdough.
I thought I knew enough to get started, but the bees humbled me on day one and it has been a rollercoaster ever since. Here I share hive updates, honey harvests, lessons learned, and everything I discover along the way in hopes of inspiring more people to support pollinators and maybe even keep a hive or two of their own.
(And yes, I still occasionally refer to them as spicy sky raisins.)
If you are thinking about getting started with backyard bees, or if you just enjoy following along as someone learns as they go, you are in the right place.
