Meet the Dachshund Herd of Pauline Manor
It’s official. As of March 2024, the herd is complete. We think. For now.
We always knew this house was meant to be filled with life, but I’m not sure we expected quite this many little legs running around. Five dachshunds now call Pauline Manor home, and every single one has their own story, their own personality, and their own spot on the couch.
It all started with Leia.

We brought Leia home back when we still lived at our old house on Bobwhite. She was our first dachshund and quickly became Daddy’s girl. Mike absolutely melted for her. She’s smart, sassy, and keeps everyone else in line like a true princess. When we found Pauline Manor, the joke was that we bought the house just to give Leia a bigger yard to play in. Honestly, it’s not that far from the truth.
Once we got settled here, Mike agreed that I could get another pup. Around that time, one of the techs at our vet’s office mentioned she was expecting a litter of dachshund puppies, so I put a deposit down on a little boy. We were all set to add to the family.
But then Ahsoka came along.

A family friend had to move for work and couldn’t take her with her. She reached out to see if we might be able to take her in, and we didn’t hesitate. Ahsoka came to live with us just a few weeks before the new puppy arrived. She and Leia got along great.
Then Chewie was born, and everything changed.

Chewie is the one who turned us into full-blown dachshund people. He was the easiest puppy in the world. Calm, cuddly, and just the happiest little guy. Plus, he potty-trained easily (something practically unheard of with dachshunds) and started sleeping through the night in a matter of weeks. I was smitten.
When I took him to the vet for his last round of puppy shots, I told her if there was ever another litter… we’d love to have another boy just like him.
Not long after, we got the call. Another litter was on the way. And from that litter came Lando.

Lando and Chewie bonded instantly. They are truly best friends – wrestling, sleeping curled up together, always side by side. The little duo I had hoped for was now a reality. So now I had the two girls and the two boys, all of whom got along perfectly. We thought our family was complete.
…but then came Fiona.

On Easter Sunday, the vet called. Someone who had taken one of Lando’s littermates, a little girl named Fiona, wasn’t able to keep her. They asked if we wanted her, and before I could even finish the question, Mike said, “Just go get her.”
That was it. The final piece of the puzzle. Our little herd of five.
Leia, Ahsoka, Chewie, Lando, and Fiona. Each one has their own quirks and routines. Each one adds something special to the energy of this house. They follow us from room to room, they sunbathe in the yard until I force them to come inside, and more than anything else they keep us laughing every single day.
Some people collect antiques or plants. Apparently, we collect dachshunds.
And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
